What Florida Law Actually Protects
Under 15 Years Old
Your insurer cannot refuse to issue or renew your policy solely because of your roof's age.
15 Years or Older
You have the legal right to a roof inspection by an authorized inspector, at your expense, before your insurer can require replacement.
5+ Years of Life Remaining
If that inspection certifies at least 5 more years of useful life, your insurer cannot drop you for age alone.
